Don Bosco Educational Society provides a variety of vocational training programs as per the community needs and industrial / corporate requirements to address the issue of unemployment among youth along with this through Don Bosco Education project we are also providing quality education at low cost to the marginalized communities in Pakistan.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING – DON BOSCO TECHNICAL & YOUTH CENTRE, LAHORE:

Salesians always feel the need for skilled based training of the disadvantaged youth. Don Bosco Technical and Youth Centre was set up in 2001 with an objective to provide quality vocational training to disadvantaged youth. Don Bosco Technical Centre provides employment-linked and market-driven skill training through Diploma of Associate Engineering, one year and six months technical courses to bridge the widening digital, financial and social divide between those who have access to opportunities and who are increasingly being marginalized from the new economy jobs. Set up in 2001 by the Salesians of don Bosco, Don Bosco Technical Centre addresses the issues of unemployment and lack of skilled manpower with a market based approach that is sensitive to the socio-economic needs of underprivileged youth in the 17 – 22 years of age group. In addition to the curriculum and course of technical activities we also pay proper attention on;
• Competency Based Trainings for teachers and students
• Carrier counseling workshops
• Workshops to promote social and moral values
• Industrial Visits to build long run and strong institutional relations
• Industrial visit of students of all trades
• Job placement
• Sports tournaments
• Annual graduation ceremonies
• Recreational activities
• Religious formation (only for Christian trainees)

Education is a basic human right and children in Pakistan are vulnerable to several developmental challenges due to poverty, impacting their safeguarding including; quality of education, prevention of sexual exploitation of children, early childhood marriage and child labor. Keeping in view the right to education for children, Salesians in Pakistan started its formal education project in 2015 for the children of marginalized communities in Youhanabad, Lahore.

The school dreams and dresses to provide quality education to the marginalized children. The main objective of this project is to impart cost effective quality English-medium education to the deserving children.
